Waco, TX – The Waco Fire Department responded to a commercial structure fire Tuesday afternoon, with crews later escalating the incident to a second alarm as firefighters continued working at the scene.
According to the department, fire units were dispatched to the 200 block of Commerce Drive, where crews arrived to find a fire inside a commercial building.
The initial response was reported at approximately 2:46 p.m., when the Waco Fire Department confirmed that firefighters were on scene battling the blaze.
Less than 20 minutes later, the department announced that the incident had been upgraded to a second alarm, bringing additional personnel and resources to assist with firefighting operations.
Officials have not released information regarding the cause of the fire, whether anyone was inside the building at the time, or if any injuries have been reported.
Firefighters remained on scene as they worked to bring the fire under control and assess the extent of the damage.
