Austin, TX – The Austin Police Department is investigating a fatal single-vehicle motorcycle crash that occurred early Saturday morning at the intersection of East Parmer Lane and North IH-35 SVRD NB.
According to authorities, officers responded to the scene on May 23, 2026, at approximately 1:13 a.m. following reports of a collision involving a motorcycle. The rider, identified as Anthony Michael Raya, was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Police stated the incident is being investigated as Austin’s 33rd fatal crash of 2026, resulting in 33 fatalities. Officials also noted that on the same date in 2025, there were 38 fatal crashes resulting in 42 deaths.
Authorities emphasized that the information released reflects an initial assessment and remains subject to change as the investigation continues.
