Waco, TX – The City of Waco announced that construction on the Herring Avenue Bridge over the Brazos River is continuing as scheduled, with traffic changes taking effect this week.
According to the City, the westbound side of the bridge between North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and North University Parks Drive reopened to traffic on June 12.
As work progresses, the eastbound side of the bridge is scheduled to close beginning June 16. Detours will be in place to help motorists navigate around the construction area.
City officials said the project is part of ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure in the area and thanked residents for their patience during the construction process.
Drivers are encouraged to follow posted detour routes and stay alert for changing traffic patterns while work continues on the bridge.
