Houston, TX – This weekend, Houston Fire Chief Thomas Muñoz visited Houston Fire Department Station 17 and later joined members of Station 26 for dinner, according to a department update.
Officials said the visit included time spent sharing a meal and conversation with firefighters, reflecting on daily operations and experiences within the department.
The Houston Fire Department described the fire station kitchen table as a central gathering place where firefighters build bonds, share stories, and strengthen unit cohesion during shifts.
Department officials emphasized that moments like these reflect the close-knit culture within HFD and the dedication of firefighters who serve and protect the city of Houston each day.
