Waco, TX – Northbound and southbound I-35 mainlanes between New Road and 12th Street in Waco have reopened ahead of schedule, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.
TxDOT and its contractors reopened both directions following work in the area. While the mainlanes are now accessible, some ancillary road closures will remain in place as crews continue removal operations.
Drivers traveling through the work zone are being urged to use caution and remain alert for construction crews and equipment. Motorists should also follow posted signs and directions from law enforcement while work continues.
TxDOT warned that drivers should still expect delays and allow additional travel time when traveling through the area.
The reopening provides motorists with access to the I-35 mainlanes while construction and removal activities continue in the surrounding work zone. Further changes to traffic patterns and closures are expected as crews progress with the remaining work.
