Waco, TX – Waco Fire Department crews responded to a townhouse fire on Savannah Court early Saturday morning, where one person was able to escape without injury.
The fire was reported in the 2900 block of Savannah Court, with Waco Fire units arriving at the scene and working to contain the blaze. According to officials, firefighters were called around 5:35 a.m. after the fire broke out at the home.
One person was inside the home at the time of the fire and was able to get out safely. Officials said the fire damaged the first and second floors of the residence.
Due to the conditions at the scene and the amount of belongings stored in the garage, additional units were called as a precaution. In total, 15 units and 35 firefighters responded to the incident.
Waco Fire officials reminded residents of the importance of having working smoke alarms and making sure they are properly maintained, noting that alarms can play a critical role in helping people escape safely during a fire.
No injuries were reported in the incident. The cause of the fire was not immediately released.
