Waco, TX – The McLennan County Courthouse was evacuated after a reported bomb threat prompted a response from law enforcement agencies, including the Waco Police Department and McLennan County Sheriff’s Office.
Waco Police said officers were assisting the sheriff’s office with the reported threat, which led to the courthouse being safely evacuated as a precaution.
Authorities also worked to evacuate nearby businesses and schools located close to the scene while the investigation was conducted. The public was advised to avoid the area until officials cleared the scene.
The McLennan County Sheriff’s Office later provided an all-clear after no threat was located. Waco Police confirmed that all roads in the area were reopened following the conclusion of the response.
Officials thanked the public for their patience and cooperation while emergency crews investigated the report and worked to ensure the safety of those in the surrounding area.
