Waco, TX – Per reports, Scott Walker was officially sworn in as the City of Waco’s 14th fire chief during a brief ceremony held in the community room at Fire Station #6. The oath of office was administered by Waco City Councilmember Josh Borderud, marking the beginning of Chief Walker’s leadership of the Waco Fire Department.
Chief Walker brings over 30 years of experience in fire service to Waco, having previously served as Executive Assistant Fire Chief with the Phoenix Fire Department. His extensive background includes expertise in fire operations, fire prevention, emergency management, and public information. Walker’s academic credentials include a bachelor’s degree in public safety and emergency management from Grand Canyon University, an associate’s degree in applied science in fire science from Phoenix Community College, and completion of the Naval Postgraduate Leadership Program.
