Waco, TX – The Waco Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred Monday evening after a reported robbery in the 2000 block of S. 14th Street.
While an officer discharged his duty weapon at an armed suspect, no injuries were reported. Two suspects were taken into custody.
Officers responded to the robbery call at 8:39 p.m. on August 4, 2025, and began searching the area for the suspects. Authorities first located 20-year-old David Rodriguez in the 100 block of Lyndon Circle.
Shortly after, officers found the second suspect, 18-year-old Jakari Jordan, who allegedly pointed a firearm at an officer. In response, the officer fired at Jordan, who fled on foot and was apprehended after a brief pursuit.
Police recovered the weapon used in the incident. Jordan was charged with aggravated assault of a police officer, with additional charges pending.
Rodriguez was also taken into custody, and his charges are currently under review. The investigation remains ongoing.
