Groundbreaking held for new Waco Fire Station 4 to serve growing South Third Street corridor

Waco, TX – The City of Waco celebrated the groundbreaking for the new Waco Fire Station #4 on August 7, 2025.

The current Station 4 has been a cornerstone of fire protection in South Waco for 132 years, responding to over 2,500 calls last year alone.

The new station, located at 801 La Salle Avenue, will better equip Waco Fire to serve the expanding South Third Street corridor and surrounding neighborhoods.

Its design incorporates mission-style architecture that honors the character of the LaSalle Overlay District, blending functionality with community aesthetics.

Officials expect construction to be completed by 2027. Waco firefighters expressed pride in continuing to serve South Waco as the area grows and evolves.
