Texas – A Texas man, 24-year-old K. Faux, was arrested in Louisiana, and charged with capital murder in connection with the death of 23-year-old A. AIIen, who was eight months pregnant at the time she was reported missing and later found dead.
Authorities with the U.S. Marshals Service confirmed the defendant was taken into custody without incident following a multi-day search that extended across state lines. Texas authorities say he will be extradited back to Texas, where he is expected to face prosecution on capital murder charges under Texas law, which applies when a homicide involves multiple victims or an unborn child.
The case has drawn significant attention due to the circumstances surrounding Allen’s disappearance, the discovery of her body, and the timeline investigators have pieced together using surveillance footage, phone records, and witness statements.
Disappearance and early investigation
According to police records cited in court documents, the pregnant woman was last seen on April 10, 2026, leaving her apartment complex. Surveillance video showed Allen and Faux entering a parking area together in the early morning hours. Minutes later, Allen’s vehicle was seen leaving the complex, allegedly driven by someone matching Faux’s description.
Later that morning, Her mother received a text message from her daughter’s phone stating, “I’m leaving, I’m not coming back.” Texas authorities later said the message appeared suspicious and inconsistent with Allen’s usual behavior. Her mother reported that when she went to check the apartment, Allen’s belongings were still inside, including baby items and personal possessions, while her vehicle and phone were missing.
Allen was officially reported missing on April 10. Texas EquuSearch and Houston police began searching for her immediately.
Discovery of the victim
On April 16, 2026, investigators located Allen’s body near Chimney Rock Park. According to law enforcement reports cited by both the Huoston Chronicle and ABC13, Allen was found with a cord wrapped around her neck multiple times, indicating strangulation as the cause of death.
Both Allen and her unborn child were pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators later confirmed she was eight months pregnant.
Authorities classified the case as capital murder, a charge that applies in Texas when the victim is pregnant and the unborn child is also killed.
Evidence and timeline developed by investigators
Court documents and investigative reports show a rapidly developing timeline of events leading up to Allen’s death.
At approximately 2:20 a.m. on April 10, surveillance footage captured Allen and Faux walking together near her residence. Shortly afterward, Allen’s vehicle left the area.
Investigators later obtained additional digital and witness evidence. According to reporting from FOX 26 and court filings, a witness told police that Faux initiated a video call around 3:17 a.m., during which he allegedly appeared distressed and made statements implying he had killed someone. The witness also reported seeing what appeared to be a body during the call.
Shortly after, text messages sent from Faux reportedly included incriminating statements. These communications became a key part of the investigation, according to law enforcement sources.
By 3:50 a.m., Allen’s mother received the suspicious message from her daughter’s phone, which investigators believe was sent after Allen had already been harmed or killed.
Investigators tracked Allen’s phone activity and vehicle location data, which eventually led them to a residence connected to Faux’s family. Her vehicle was later recovered near that location.
Authorities then learned that Faux had traveled to Louisiana by bus shortly after Allen’s disappearance. Court records indicate he contacted a woman in Louisiana and stayed at a residence there while attempting to avoid detection.
That woman later contacted law enforcement after becoming suspicious and noticing inconsistencies in Faux’s statements, including references to Allen’s disappearance and his use of her debit card.
U.S. Marshals arrested Faux in Louisiana after receiving confirmation of his location from investigative leads.
Reporting from FOX 26 and ABC13 indicates that Faux had prior domestic violence-related charges involving Allen. Court records also show he had previously pleaded guilty to assault-related offenses connected to the victim months before her death.
This history has raised questions among investigators and the public about prior intervention and whether earlier legal outcomes may have prevented escalation.
Faux remains in custody pending extradition to Texas. Prosecutors are expected to pursue capital murder charges, which in Texas can carry the possibility of life imprisonment without parole or the death penalty, depending on the outcome of the case.
Local authorities say the investigation remains active as they continue to analyze digital evidence, witness statements, and forensic findings.
Officials have not released additional details regarding motive, but investigators continue to examine the relationship history between the suspect and victim as part of the ongoing case.
