Waco, TX – Waco Parks and Recreation hosted a preview event on Friday, giving residents a first look at planned improvements for Chapel Park.
According to the City of Waco – Public Information, the upgrades will include a new splash pad and an improved pavilion aimed at enhancing the space for community use.
Local officials, including Mayor Jim Holmes, Council Member Josh Borderud, and Parks & Recreation Director Jonathan Cook, attended the event and even tested the current splash pad.
City officials said they are looking forward to seeing the park transformed into a space the community can enjoy. Construction on the project is expected to begin in June 2026.
