Houston, TEXAS – Members of the Houston Police Department traveled to Washington, D.C., to attend the 2026 National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service held at the United States Capitol.
According to the department, officers participated in the memorial to honor law enforcement personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty, including Senior Police Officer Alex D. Roberts and Senior Police Officer Gary L. Crawford of HPD.
The department said the ceremony recognized the service and sacrifice of fallen officers and served as a tribute to their dedication to protecting the community.
In a statement shared following the event, HPD said the legacy of the two officers continues to inspire members of the department.
National Police Week events are held annually in Washington to recognize officers killed in the line of duty and to support surviving families and fellow law enforcement personnel.
