Waco, TX – The City of Waco and the Waco Police Department alerted motorists on June 15 that a section of Waco Drive heading toward downtown had been reduced to one lane following a washout caused by flooding.
Officials said crews were dispatched early Monday morning to assess the damage and address issues resulting from the recent flooding. The lane reduction was put in place while crews evaluated the roadway and worked to ensure safe travel conditions.
The traffic advisory came after heavy rainfall and flash flooding impacted parts of the Waco area, leading to damage on some roadways.
City officials encouraged residents to report any concerns they observed during their commute. Reports could be submitted through the MyWaco App, by commenting on the City’s social media post, or by calling the City’s information line at (254) 299-2489.
Motorists traveling toward downtown were advised to use caution and expect potential delays while crews continued their assessment and repair efforts.
