Waco, TX – The Waco Police Department gave members of its Junior Police Academy the opportunity to experience the department’s agility course, which is the same physical fitness test used during the hiring process for new officers.
Participants stepped up to the challenge and tested their skills as they worked through the course designed to measure strength, endurance, and agility.
Officials said the exercise gave students a firsthand glimpse of the physical demands required to become a Waco police officer.
The department added that the Junior Police Academy is aimed at introducing youth to law enforcement careers while helping build teamwork, discipline, and leadership skills.
Waco Police said experiences like the agility course are part of ongoing efforts to engage young people and show them the first steps in becoming part of the department.
