Houston, TX – The Houston Fire Department joined city partners this week in a second celebration recognizing the retirement of David Persse, who served as Director of Emergency Medical Services and Houston’s Public Health Authority.
Persse concluded a career spanning more than 29 years, during which officials said his leadership and influence extended across multiple areas of city government. His work played a key role in shaping emergency medical services in Houston into a program recognized nationally for its quality and performance.
The event brought together representatives from various departments, agencies, and organizations that worked alongside Persse throughout his career, highlighting the broad impact of his contributions.
Officials with the department expressed appreciation for his service, noting that his legacy will continue to influence emergency medicine and public health efforts in Houston.
