Texas – A 47-year-old man, Herbert Suvenir, was arrested after being captured by multiple law enforcement agencies working in coordination, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) announced.
Souvenir, who was listed among the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives, was taken into custody at a residence on the south side of San Antonio following investigative leads and tip information, authorities said. The arrest involved members of the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force along with personnel from the Texas Department of Public SafetyCriminal Investigations Division, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, the Texas Attorney General’s Office, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Office of the Inspector General, and the San Antonio Police Department. Texas Highway Patrol Troopers also assisted in the operation.
Officials said the arrest was made after investigators followed up on tips that helped locate Souvenir in the area. A Texas Crime Stoppers reward will be paid for information that led to his capture.
According to DPS records, Souvenir has a lengthy criminal history spanning several decades. In 1998, he was convicted of aggravated se-ual assault of a child involving an 8-year-old victim and was sentenced to 12 years in prison. Texas authorities said he was later convicted in 2022 of assault causing bodily injury to a family member. He was also convicted of burglary of a habitation and received eight years of probation.
At the time of his arrest, Souvenir had been wanted out of Guadalupe County since January 2026 on charges of sexual assault with an enhanced habitual offender status.
Law enforcement officials said coordinated efforts between state and local agencies played a key role in locating and apprehending him. The Texas Highway Patrol assisted in securing the area during the arrest, while investigative units worked together to confirm his identity and ensure a safe apprehension.
The Texas Crime Stoppers program, funded through the Governor’s Public Safety Office, provides cash rewards to individuals who submit tips leading to the arrest of fugitives on the Texas 10 Most Wanted lists. Officials said the program continues to be a major tool in assisting law enforcement by encouraging anonymous public tips.
So far in 2026, DPS and partnering agencies have arrested 27 individuals on Texas’ most wanted lists, including fugitives, sex offenders, and criminal illegal immigrants. Officials reported that 20 of those arrests involved sex offenders, along with three gang-related suspects, with approximately $45,500 in rewards paid out for tips that resulted in arrests.
Authorities reiterated that all Crime Stoppers tips remain anonymous, regardless of submission method, and tipsters are assigned a number instead of providing identifying information.
DPS officials said the arrest of Souvenir reflects continued efforts to locate and apprehend individuals considered high-risk fugitives across Texas through coordinated law enforcement operations and public assistance.
