Texas – Sid Miller praised the Trump administration after China committed to purchasing at least $17 billion annually in U.S. agricultural products over the next three years, alongside renewed soybean purchase agreements and expanded access for American beef and poultry exports.
Miller said the agreement would provide stability for soybean growers and agricultural producers across the country as the upcoming soybean harvest is expected to be one of the largest on record.
According to the White House, the agreement includes additional agricultural purchase commitments beyond existing soybean deals and is intended to restore and expand market access for U.S. beef and poultry products.
As one of the nation’s leading producers of cattle, cotton, soybeans, poultry, and other agricultural commodities, Texasrelies heavily on international trade markets.
Miller said expanded trade opportunities give Texas producers more chances to grow operations, invest in the future, and maintain long-term stability for family farms and ranches. He also said the agreement sends a positive signal to producers who have faced years of uncertainty in global markets.
China has historically been one of the largest export destinations for U.S. agricultural goods, including soybeans, beef, cotton, and feed grains. Officials said the renewed purchasing commitments could increase agricultural exports nationwide while improving market conditions for producers.
Miller additionally praised Donald Trump for supporting American agriculture and strengthening export opportunities for rural communities and producers across the country.
