Texas Senate candidate Talarico accuses Ken Paxton after President Trump’s voter fraud speech, claims AG was caught voting from the wrong address 6 elections in a row

Texas – Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico responded to President Donald Trump’s recent speech on election security by accusing Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton of committing voter fraud and calling on the president to investigate the Texas attorney general.

“President Trump just gave a speech about voter fraud,” Talarico wrote. “Someone has been committing voter fraud — and his name is Ken Paxton. He was just caught voting from the wrong address 6 elections in a row. If the President wants to investigate voter fraud, he should start with Ken Paxton.”

Talarico made the comments after Trump delivered a primetime address focused on election security, during which the president discussed alleged vulnerabilities in the nation’s election systems and released what the White House described as newly declassified documents related to foreign election interference and election infrastructure concerns, The White House reported.

In a video shared on social media, Talarico criticized Paxton’s record as Texas attorney general and pointed to a recent report alleging that Paxton voted in multiple elections while remaining registered at an address where he no longer appeared to live. Reports from ProPublica and The Texas Tribune said Paxton voted in six elections using a Collin County address despite questions about whether it remained his legal residence, according to The Texas Tribune.

Talarico argued that Paxton’s actions conflicted with his public focus on election enforcement.

“Someone is committing voter fraud in the state of Texas, and his name is Ken Paxton,” Talarico said in the video.

He also referenced the case of Crystal Mason, a Texas woman who was convicted after casting a provisional ballot that was not counted. Talarico argued that Paxton’s office aggressively pursued Mason while he was allegedly facing questions about his own voting record.

“Ken Paxton destroyed a woman’s life. All while he was committing voter fraud himself,” Talarico said.

The allegations against Paxton have drawn attention in the Texas Senate race, where Paxton is the Republican nominee and Talarico is seeking the Democratic nomination. Paxton’s campaign has rejected accusations that he violated election law, calling reports about his voter registration a political attack and saying he remained in compliance with Texas law, KGNS reported.

Trump’s speech focused heavily on election integrity, with the president arguing that additional safeguards are needed to protect American elections. The White House said the documents released during the address showed foreign adversaries had attempted to target U.S. election-related systems and data.

However, several fact-checking organizations reported that some of the claims discussed during the speech lacked supporting evidence or did not establish that fraudulent votes were actually cast or that election outcomes were changed.

Talarico used the timing of Trump’s remarks to argue that election integrity investigations should also apply to powerful political figures.

“If Donald Trump wants to investigate voter fraud, he should start by investigating Ken Paxton,” Talarico said.

The dispute adds another layer of tension to the Texas Senate race, where both candidates are seeking to define themselves around issues including government accountability, election policy, and public trust ahead of the general election.
