Waco Police Department investigates homicide following fatal shooting in the area of Ozark and Howard

Waco, TX – The Waco Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on the evening of February 5, 2025. At 7:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Ozark and Howard.

Upon arrival, officers found a 34-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

At this time, a suspect has not been identified, but detectives believe the incident was isolated. The investigation is ongoing.

Waco Police are encouraging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 254-753-HELP (4357). Tips leading to an arrest could result in a reward of up to $2,000. Information can also be submitted online at wacocrimestoppers.org or via the P3 Tips mobile app.

This marks the first homicide investigation of 2025 and the first in the past seven months.
