Houston, TX – Resilient Structures has opened a new composite utility pole manufacturing facility in Humble, marking an expansion that is expected to add jobs and strengthen Houston’s role in advanced manufacturing.
The facility will produce high-performance composite utility poles designed to last up to four times longer than traditional wooden poles. Company officials said the products are intended to support efforts to improve grid reliability and infrastructure resilience across the region.
The expansion comes as Resilient Structures continues to grow its footprint in Texas following a long-term supply agreement announced with CenterPoint Energy in February. The Humble site is expected to play a key role in meeting demand as CenterPoint works to enhance the resilience of its coastal grid.
Local economic leaders say investments like this reflect continued business confidence in the Houston area. They also point to infrastructure reliability as a key factor influencing where companies choose to locate and expand operations.
The project also strengthens the region’s industrial supply chain by enabling local production of critical utility infrastructure components. Officials note that manufacturing these materials closer to end users can reduce delivery times and improve overall system responsiveness in a rapidly growing market.
Resilient Structures initially invested in the region in 2023, creating around 200 jobs. The addition of two new production lines at the Humble facility is expected to generate approximately 150 more positions.
Regional business leaders say the expansion adds momentum to Houston’s growing advanced manufacturing sector. They also highlight the broader economic impact of infrastructure-focused development, which supports both industrial growth and long-term regional stability.
